The news is spreading

Wow! What a busy weekend we had. After working a full day on Friday, we took off to Brampton to see my aunt, uncle and cousin. We shared a delicious dinner and my husband and I shared our exciting news. We stayed till midnight, drove home, went to bed and were up again at 6 am preparing for an early trip to Belleville. In Belleville, we met with my husband's grandmother, as well as his aunt and uncle. We had breakfast at a cute little family-operated restaurant, and again, shared our news. Everyone seems very excited! Our next stop was Cobourg to see my grandparents, as well as my aunt and uncle. We had a good time sharing the news with them and had dinner there before dropping in on yet another aunt and uncle!

Today has been a much quieter day, though I did manage to take in an ultimate frisbee game. Had a little breakdown tonight (thank you, mood swings), but am feeling much better now and ready to take on the new week!

There's a first time for everything ...

I promised myself that my first blog posting would not be a long-calculated, edited, or mind-tortured enterprise. I promised myself it would just flow from my head like the journal entries do when I write them as I lie in bed at night. And so far it is just that. Coming up with a name for the blog was a challenge, as I have not yet decided the full intent or objective to creating this blog. I just wanted to do it. I am not a trained writer, a natural poet, or anything remotely related to these. I am a young, married, generally happy, athletic woman (and aspiring professional - though not in athletics!) who has found herself at yet another of life's crossroads. What might that crossroads be you ask? Well, it's not so much as a crossroads as it is a milestone, for I am 12 weeks pregnant with my first child and am so looking forward to entering the world of motherhood. Parents have been told of the wonderful news, as well as siblings and some of our close friends. The news will soon be traveling to our grandparents, aunts, uncles, and the rest of our world, and I am sure that I will provide some update on the receipt of this news.

And with that, I will close my very first blog posting, as it is time to eat yet again and enjoy the company of my husband before it's time for bed.
